Chicago Wedding Late Night Snack Ideas

After all the wedding celebrations throughout the day, your guests are going to get a bit peckish by the end of the night. A great way to satisfy their cravings is by serving some snacks during the reception. It can be fun greasy delights, or late night sugar rushes! One of the biggest things to keep in mind is your guests are going to be moving frequently, and hopefully dancing. Serve small bites: something easy to grab and go, and of course something tasty! We love when our clients get unique with their late night snack choices.

Here are some of our favorite establishments you can order from, and some of our favorite unique ways of serving them.

Dipsy Desserts

If you want some super fun ice cream bars, you have to try Dipsy Desserts! They are a husband and wife owned business that serves personalized treats from their ice cream cart. You can choose your flavor of ice cream, your flavor of chocolate dip, and sprinkle it with crazy toppings like edible glitter, crushed candy, cereal, and white chocolate pearls. It’s the perfect grab and do snack for guests with a sweet tooth! Not only will ice cream lovers enjoy this dessert, but guests will love the personalization of the bars. How can your ice cream bar be bad if it’s covered with all your favorite flavors and toppings? They are also definitely worth taking a picture of!

Pretty Cool Ice Cream has some super unique flavors and fun packages. Guests can easily grab a bar from the Pretty Cooler and dance the night away on the dance floor! They also are a woman owned establishment. Some of the flavors include Ricky’s coffee pretzel toffee, Chicago Mix, Banana Cream Pie, and more! You can also order flavors in pints and instead host a Sundae Bar during the reception.

Sliders

A perfect easy snack for your guests are small dishes, like tapas, or sliders. This allows guests to grab a quick bite and shake their booty again on the dance floor. A great place to start is asking your caterer what possible late night options they have. It’s also considerate to have a few options for any dietary restrictions. Spice up your event with waiters that serve the late night treats during the reception. Maybe even serve some mini milkshakes with the sliders?

Hot Dog Stand

Hot dogs are also a great late night snack for guests. If you are in Chicago, you can’t go wrong serving a classic Chicago Dog. If you want to spice up the event, you can rent a hot dog cart to add a playful element to your event!

Popcorn

Popcorn is a perfect grab and go snack. Have a popcorn machine in the corner, or hire a performer from New Moon Chicago to strut around the reception serving guests in performative ways. A perfect Chicago popcorn staple is Garrett Popcorn! They have popcorn that satisfies the salty, and the sweet. You can purchase tins, bags, and possibly even turn them into a parting gift.

Donuts

Donuts are a perfect sweet treat, and possible substitution to a cake. You can have themed donuts, or plain. You can have them on plates, or serve them on a donut stand. You can easily rent a stand from Chicago establishments like Do-Rite Donuts, Firecakes Donuts, or you can purchase personalized ones from Amazon or Etsy.

Food Trucks

Food trucks are a great way to serve late night snacks in a unique way. This allows guests to order what they want and the food is guaranteed fresh. Have them park at your venue’s outdoor area, or have them indoors if the venue is large enough. One of our favorite food trucks is The Tamale Spaceship. They sell delicious tamales and Mexican snacks. Sometimes the team even wears a Lucha Libre mask while serving food.

No matter what you serve, it’s always fun to keep the meals personalized to what you and your partner love! If you also have any other questions, thoughts, or creative ways of serving snacks—don’t hesitate to reach out!
