Mini Wedding in a Chicago Backyard!
Nick and Stefanie’s big 150 person wedding at Chicago Illuminating Company was supposed to happen on 6.13.2020 but with the Pandemic, they had to postpone their big celebration twice! Once to Fall 2020 and then again to Spring 2021. As their wedding planners, Fierce supported them through this and helped them through a potentially very stressful situation and helped them postpone their wedding. As Phase 3 and 4 started become more realistic in Chicago in May, Nick and Stefanie started to become more hopeful that they could actually get married! After much trial and error they were able to virtually apply for a marriage license through Cook County and succeeded!
Their vision was to have a small, micro ceremony with just family in their gorgeous backyard. When our curated mini wedding packages Little but Fierce were launched they jumped on board and in two weeks on their original wedding date we produced their mini wedding!!
It was a gorgeous summer day, not too hot too cool. Our florist Leelee’s Garden set up a gorgeous floral arch in their backyard. Although Nick and Stef’s big celebration will feature colors of pink, burgundy, gold, cream and sage - Stefanie really wanted to have lots of color for this summer micro ceremony! We styled all of their props, from their photo album, to the lanterns and other goodies you see below that we have on stock for styling props.
Only immediate family attended and they were married by their bishop. They wrote their own vows. After they kissed, Nick and his mom, Stef and her dad, and Nick and Stef had their first dancers. Then family stood up and gave toasts! After group family photos Nick and Stef and their photographer set out around their neighborhood of Homewood, IL to take couple’s portraits. Each guest got a cake out box favor from ECBG Cake Studio to take home. While Nick and Stef took photos the Fierce team cleaned up their backyard and set out their To Go Salmon dinner and charcuterie board from The Caterist!
The Fiercest Part of this Micro Wedding
The Stunning Floral arch from Leelee’s Garden! We loved the bold and beautiful color palette that was perfect for a June wedding!! We also loved that Nick and Stef recessed to one of our favorite songs by Beyonce, Homecoming. Check out the bright, bold, romantic photos this intimate backyard Chicago wedding below!!
