If you are getting married in Miami, you will probably want to book a venue with a gorgeous outdoor space, and enjoy the Miami sun. When considering your venue, make sure to also think about a possible rain plan. Weather is unfortunately uncontrollable, so make sure you also fall in love with the venue’s rain plan. As a wedding planner based in Miami and Chicago, we see lots of venues. Here are some of our favorite venues in Miami with an outdoor space.

Now, it’s a Mediterranean themed venue that houses Gianni’s restaurant, two private lounges, and ten hotel rooms. The gorgeous exterior hosts tiled patterns, and a crystal mosaic pool. There is also a small courtyard with a fountain that would be perfect for a cocktail hour. The exterior space of The Villa is a perfect relaxing hidden oasis in the middle of the hawt Miami.

Why we love this Miami venue:

The exterior is a little Mediterranean paradise. You can celebrate any occasion in front of the gorgeous mosaic pool, and tropical greens. In the night, the lights reflect off the pool and turn it into a romantic retreat.

What you should know about this venue:

Because this venue is a restaurant by day you will need to buy out the entire space to host an event. If you are having an elaborate set up in the space you will be required to buy out the space the day before and the day after the event as well. Incase of rain, there is an interior space used for the restaurant, and the space has retractable roofs.

This is a gorgeous space to take pictures, and will transport your guests away from the Miami city life for a few hours.

Why we love this Miami venue:

The Botanical Gardens really feel like a hidden oasis in the middle of Miami Beach. Each garden feels like you’re stepping into a different world. One of the iconic places to share your vows is on a canopied terrace facing an 100 year old tree planted by Carl Fisher. There is also plenty of areas to catch some shade, and take romantic pictures with your partner.

Details about this venue:

The Deering Estate is a gorgeous, historical area of land containing 2 mansions, an expansive lawn courtyard, and lake views. It conserves the 1920’s era estate of Charles Deering. You can celebrate your event right on the lake, between the two buildings, or in their Stone House Museum. During the day, there are constant events, activities, and nature walks to keep the space alive.

Why we love this Miami venue:

We love the expansive garden right on the lake. It makes such a gorgeous space to host your event, and Biscayne Bay makes a lovely backdrop to share your vows.

What you should know about this venue:

Because this is a historical property, they are stricter with their rules and regulations. You’ll need to pay extra attention to those details, or make sure an event planner can assist. For rain, there are indoor spaces you can host your event, but you will most likely have to rent a tent for all your guests. Details about this venue:

Vizcaya is a gorgeous Mediterranean-styled, historical mansion with sprawling gardens. It’s located right on Biscayne Bay, so you can have your event right on the water. This location has the perfect balance of greenery, historical flair, and modern luxury.

Why we love this Miami venue:

This is one of the most beautiful mansions we have ever seen. It really feels like you are stepping back into history. The gardens and architecture are unique, and beautiful. You truly feel like royalty walking through the grounds. And even though it is a historic space, this venue is also conscious about keeping green and even offers tips on how to make your event green on their website!

What you should know about this venue:

Because it is a historical property the rules and regulations are pretty strict so you will need be very clear about what is and isn’t allowed on the property. Additionally, Vizcaya is a public space so you will have to wait until the museum closes before your event can happen which makes set up/load in tricky. This is a venue that definitely requires the support of a Planner. Incase of rain, you can host your event inside the mansion.

Details about this venue:

The Curtiss Mansion is a Historical Mansion owned by Glen Curtiss, the “Father of Aviation”. The space has unique architecture, and also a lovely tropical garden for those who want both a garden and mansion for their wedding.

Why we love this Miami venue:

You’re in a mansion one second and then gardens the next. The gardens feature a gorgeous grove of trees, a stone arch intertwined with tree roots, and even a romantic bridge to share vows by. There are several locations you can host your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. You can design your event in your own unique way according to your vision and goals. Our favorite feature of the venue is the canopy of trees across from the mansion. It’s next to the parking lot but it is totally hidden by the gorgeous forest. It feels like you’re not in even in the city anymore!

What you should know about this venue:

Because Glenn Curtis was the “Father of Aviation”, and also established Miami Springs, the venue is not super far from the Miami airport in Miami Springs, so don’t be surprised if there are tons of airplanes flying over. For rain, they do have an interior space to hold your guests inside the mansion, just make sure it’s a space you also love!
