Clara and Addison's Vintage Picnic Wedding

Clara and Addison originally signed on with us to have a “Shakespeare in the Park” Wedding: They were going to perform Much Ado About Nothing, and when the characters got married it would become the actual wedding ceremony! Unfortunately, due to Covid we had to “downsize” a bit, but we were able to adapt the vision and keep many of the original elements. They were able to have a wonderful gathering at Cheney Mansion with picnic blankets, and a lounge for everyone to sit at. Each blanket had a picnic basket with snacks and treats from Hearty Boys, and a Shakespeare Play as a centerpiece to help guide guests to their assigned spot. The couple still got to perform on the day, as they sang a song for their guests, and had everyone sing When I’m Sixty-Four by the Beatles with a live String Trio. There was even a beautiful arch built by a friend of the client, and decked with florals by Black Rabbit Shop as a glorious ceremony centerpiece. It was a glorious day for everyone to celebrate love, the couple, and enjoy some afternoon tea!

Fierce Moments

Photo provided by Client

The fiercest moment was the dress, and overall inspiration. Clara had a photo of her Grandmother that she wanted to base the look on. Therefore, we kept everything in an eclectic vintage aesthetic with late 1800s through 1940s vibes. Clara was also able to find a grand, and luxurious vintage dress from Miranda’s Vintage Bridal. The train was a glorious statement, and was just as long as her Grandmother’s.

There was also a gorgeous lounge with furniture from Chicago Vintage Weddings used as the wedding party table. We are all about making a statement with furniture pieces, and this lounge made one in the park!
